Hello and good morning...
Today I am sharing some pages that I have recently made with product from a newer company, Chickaniddy Crafts, who is also one of the many NEW vendors who will be able to shop with at The Original Scrapbook USA Expo. If you haven't checked out their two new collections, you really should. They are both fun and totally easy to work with. I actually had the privilege to work in the booth at CHA and had a blast.
The two collections are Twirly Girly, which is a mainly girlie collection that focuses on the life of a girl from birth to 99.. It's mainly pinks, grays, yellows and have a soft, clean look to it:
I use this line for a sweet little layout of my little one, who is glued to her baby doll right now, and takes her everywhere.
I came up with this page, the photo was taken on a recent Hawaii trip. I fussy cut some of the flowers to make a embellie cluster on the side of the photo and some light misting on the page:
Their second collection is called Date Night, and worked from date nights, to engagement, wedding scrapping and fun married pictures. This line has fun hues of blue, gray, and pops of peach. Really this line can do anything from winter pages, to boy pages, to everyday pages.
enamel hearts, which I used on the page:
Chickaniddy Crafts also sells their lines in collections packs which come with sticker elements and an alphas sheet. There are also two sheets that have 3x4 tags which came be perfect for project life. There are also some really great embellishments- word sentiment stickers, brads, banner stickers and sticker tags. They also have really cool GOLD and SILVER specialty papers that can be run through any die cut machine to cut, make your own title, border punch or emboss... totally cool right??
Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!!!

I am practically..... giddy....thinking of the fabulous vendors we have joining us at Scrapbook USA in a few short weeks!
It is really amazing to meet these companies! So many of our vendors this year will be there with new and exciting products to help us expand our skills, style and creativity! Shimmerz Paints is just one of the many companies that gets me REALLY excited!
So, what are Shimmerz Paints you might ask?? Really it's simple, they are a collection of water based paints that add spunk and sparkle to make any project shine!
The projects over on the Shimmerz Paints blog are absolutely amazing!! I currently have a white canvas, a photo and an idea in my head of a project for my daughter's room. I can't wait to try out these paints on my project.
The good news is if you are new to mixed media, they have all sorts of video tutorials on their blog. For example, this gift tag, isn't it amazing?
There is a fantastic video tutorial on the Shimmerz blog that walks you through this project step by step.
The staff from Shimmerz Paints will be at the show, ready to show-off the amazing things you can do with these paints right inside their booth.
Isn't this card amazing??
Also, if you are looking for an opportunity to sit down and work up a mixed media project for yourself at the show, check out Sherry Mendoza's Friday night Mixed Media Canvas Class.
Sherry is an amazing and talented artist. She will be teaching techniques, style and art as you explore your creative side and put together this fun masterpiece for yourself!
Hello! Are you getting excited about attending the Original Scrapbook USA Expo? I AM!! I can't wait. There's nothing better than good friends, fun times and GREAT shopping!! Speaking of shopping, My Mind's Eye is going to be there and I just happen to have a pretty cool layout here using their Cut and Paste line.
I had so much fun making this layout. I started out getting messy (really you should see my fingers lol) and then layered the patterns from Cut & Paste using a sketch from My Scraps & More sketches blog.
These layered stickers are really cool and fun. I went with the heart theme and added more in wood veneers, rounded all my corners and did a lot of inking.
Added a bit of bling
and finished up with this date label and ink around the entire layout.
I'm ready to get me some more fun product at the My Mind's Eye booth! How about you?

Easter is just around the corner! Isn't this card SO cute!
March 28-29, 2014 will not disappoint. A number of new companies will be joining the show, including Authentique Paper.
I have been admiring their collections for some time now and I am REALLY excited to have them with us this year!
Authentique Paper has been around for just 2 years but they have literally exploded onto the paper crafting scene with a very fun and unique "vintage with a modern twist" style.
This card and milk carton style box are from Authentique's new collection "Suave". The colors are AMAZING! Check out the tutorial for these projects as well as other amazing layouts with this collection.
I perused their blog this morning and found a number of cute and practical projects (with tutorials) to share. I know that you are going to LOVE Authentique Paper as much as I do! Take a minute and check out their blog and make sure to follow Authentique on Pinterest, Facebook and Instagram.
Scrapbook USA is less than 3 weeks away! We are getting SO excited to see all our old friends and to make many new friends! While at the show, make sure to stop by Authentique Paper's booth and check out all the fun product and projects that they have!!
I love pink's and blue's together, plus this "Fourish Collection" is screaming Spring!! Check out Authentique's blog for details on this wooden picket fence note holder

Is your layout ready for our 2014 Show Layout Contest??
Remember, this year our layout contest is based on a sketch.
You can see the sketch and get the details and rules HERE
But before you go, check out Ange's take on the contest sketch for a little bit of fun creative inspiration!!
I used the sketch and stretched it into a 2 page layout. I just took the strips from the sketch and brought them all the way across to my 2nd page. Then balanced it out by adding elements in the lower right. Make sure when you embellish that you don't clump similar items together too much. It also helped that I let my journaling go over to my 2nd page too.
Have fun creating! :)Ange

What is Hybrid Crafting?
Hello crafters! Wendy of WendyBird Designs here and I am really getting excited for the Expo next month! I’ll be travelling from Phoenix to attend for the first time and I’m teaching a Hybrid Crafts Class!
So what is Hybrid? Hybrid Crafting combines digital scrapbooking with paper crafts.
First things first, what exactly is digital scrapbooking? I love this post by Scrapping with Liz, but the simple version is that the scrapbook kits are all digital downloads and the pages are made using Photoshop or other photo editing software. The scrapbook pages can be shared online and also printed individually or into photo books. My hybrid templates let you bring your digital supplies out of your computer – you use those digital scrapbooking kits to create printable projects – all designed to be able to print at home or professionally, then they get cut out and assembled into 3D projects.
If you are or have ever been a “traditional” paper scrapbooker, you’ve probably seen the plastic templates that let you trace shapes on to paper then fold them up to make boxes or tags. Hybrid templates are just like those but better! Because they’re digital, they can be resized easily, you can attach digital papers to create a printable project that is perfect every time and are completely reusable and versatile!
If you have a Silhouette or other digital die cutting machine then you are going to be in heaven, because my 3D hybrid templates all come with cutting files so that you can easily create print and cut projects!
Really, hybrid is the best of both worlds – you have the ease of digital scrapbooking (no messes to clean up before you can use the table to eat dinner), plus being able to reuse digital supplies – you can duplicate, resize and recolor to your heart’s content to get the most out of your digi stash! And you still end up with a hands-on physical project to show off or give as a gift! There really is something special about seeing your digital creation in “real life”!
In my Hybrid class at the Expo, we’ll be creating 5 really fun Easter projects and you’ll get to see the process from start to finish – I’ll start with the blank template, decorate it with a digital kit, see how it’s printed and cut and then we’ll all assemble them together!
We are going to have a lot of fun and I hope that you’ll join me there! See you in March!

Hello my fabulous friends!
Are you all getting excited for the Scrapbook USA Expo???
I know I am! =)
So many fabulous vendors (including Spellbinders!!! YAY!!!)
One of the vendors I always look forward to is Basic Grey. I love their stuff & their deals!
This was made using Basic Grey's "Mon Ami" line.
Fabulous colors & patterns in this line!
The numbers on the side were stamped with a clear embossing ink, then covered with Magical Powder from Lindy's Stamp Gang... The mica shimmers so beautifully and gives it that touch of metallic shine without being overly distracting.
Working with scraps, I was able to quickly make a second card using the same line of papers...
The yellow paper on this card is actually a scrap from the first card... (it is the reverse side of the grey... I love double sided papers!!!)
Supplies Used (1):
Paper: Basic Grey "Mon Ami", watercolor paper
Ink: VersaMark, Archival Ink
Stamps: Unity "Number etc.", "Sing Your Song", "Create Today", & "Heartfelt Sentiments"
Other: Lindy Stamp Gang Magicals "Cattail Copper Brown"
Supplies Used (2):

Ink: Archival, Distress Ink
Stamps: Unity "Every Breath"
Dies: Spellbinders "Blossom Tags & Accents", Quickutz "Nesting Circles"
