Basic Grey Cards

Hello and good morning....

It's Wendi here up on the blog today. I have become a HUGE fan of those little strips at the bottom of the papers that have a little bit of the paper showing on them. Those strips can be super useful on your projects. Today I am going to share a few things that you can do with those strips. I am using Basic Grey's Mint Julep line.

First cut all your strips off your papers and it should look like this:

Once you trim off the wording and barcode , you can cut further and cut the scallop design out to create scallop layers on your project. I made this card, layering the scallops on the side, to add a design border to the side:
I also cut scallops and added them to the sentiment tag:
On this second card I am sharing with you, I actually left the full scallops and just used the paper strips to layer on the card. I also distressed the edges and pushed them back a bit to show the dimension it created:
You can see it a bit better on an angle:
So don't throw away those strips!!!! Use them and add a little flair to your projects...

Thanks so much for stopping by today....and don't forget to make an extra card or 2 for The Original Scrapbook USA Expo's Care With Cards!

  1. These are really beautiful! I love how you used the strips. These have so much texture and depth. I'm using the strips in my cards a little later this month, too, but in a totally different way -- it's so fun to see how many ways people can use the same things.
